Hannibal 2 Project
During a meeting with KWS in spring of 2024 in Nairobi, we came to realize that veterinarian needs and animal transportation were larger parts of conservation than we realized. A wish-list of immediate needs was created with 7 items, some of them large!
- New dart gun from Denmark.
- Two large 5th wheel trailers with large crates for transporting injured elephants, rhinos, and other large animals.
- Two more large trucks capable of pulling those trailers with heavy cargo.
- A 30-ton winch fitted to one of the trucks.
- A Land Cruiser specially equipped with a cooler box and extended space for carrying veterinarians to remote sites.
- A 130 H.P. tractor for dragging large animals out of thick bushes.
Hannibal 2 has been successfully completed and delivered in 2025.
The value of this project was KES 91,400,000 (91.4 million Kenya shillings or approximately US $708,500.00).
100% of the project funds came from Shiraz and Leili personally, through their Foundation.
