Animal Transportation
SLWildlife–45
Here the injured rhino has been darted and rangers have to quickly make sure that it does not collapse in a way that can endanger its life. Sometimes darted animals can fall inside a pond and drown or fall in such a way that breathing is hindered. Time is of the essence after darting.
SLWildlife–46
Once fully sedated and secured, the rhino is being prepared to be lifted into a crate to be moved to a remote vet facility.
SLWildlife–47
Sometimes elephants will encroach into human areas and have to be darted and relocated.
SLWildlife–51
Rough terrain is normal, and rangers work hand-in-hand with the vet units as well as the aerial units.

A typical "crate" that is used to transport animals. The crate sits on the ground, the animal is loaded inside the crate, and the crate is then hoisted with a crane onto a flat-bed trailer that is pulled by a large truck.
SLWildlife–59
Sometimes whole herds have to be translocated due to overpoaching, drought, or overpopulation. Animals are slowly "chased" and cordoned off so they move into a compound.
